Every single element of my new album, REBEL DIARY, was well-thought-out and carefully executed. Every sound effect, deliberate pause, kick, 808, and instrument was sonically crafted and put together to give the listener the most rewarding experience.
I aim for replay value, and there are motifs and themes in the lyrics, as well as how they are being delivered. My guest features all did excellent work and my engineer Tynz married the low end of the baselines, kick drums, and 808s with the frequencies of the lyrics and melodies. I have made over 40 albums, and I have never been as satisfied with one as this one.
I spent the last two years writing, recording, and tinkering, and in several cases, I threw entire beats out and restructured them from scratch because I wanted REBEL DIARY to be a perfect, undeniable, breakthrough listen from the start to the finish with no skips and no filler.
I want this to be my masterpiece album, and every single element was well thought out, considered, reconsidered, and eventually finalized with the expectation that it fulfills the potential that music has to be thought-provoking, catchy, artistic, and powerful. I want these songs, concepts, ideas, and earworms to bury themselves deep in your psyche and haunt your being. I want you to be moved and feel every single emotion I tried to convey.

My birthday is April 22nd, (Earth Day) and I will be releasing my first single from REBEL DIARY on that day, it's titled THANK YOU, POPS.
A few months ago, my dad, who has recently entered retirement, decided he wanted to go on a one-on-one trip with all seven of his children. He said he wanted us to think of a place to go, where we could spend some time together, and he could enjoy his retirement with each of his children.
That was before his cancer diagnosis. He was afraid because of his treatment that we would not be able to go on our planned trip. I thought long and hard about the destination I wanted to go to with my father. I am not much of a traveler. Luckily, he has decided that his diagnosis will not hinder him from making this historic trip with me.
I wanted to visit someplace in the U.S. where I could connect with some of the great history and vibrant culture of the indigenous people of this country. I did some research and learned about the GATHERING OF THE NATIONS, a native pow-wow celebration in Albuquerque, and we decided we would go to Albuquerque and spend a day at the pow-wow. I am hoping to meet some native rappers, hear some native hip-hop, and possibly pass out or trade some CDs, in addition to the other festivities at the pow-wow. I am a big fan of native hip-hop.
Then we will spend time in the area visiting other places nearby, like Sante Fe and other landmarks. Do I know anyone in the Albuquerque area? Any advice on places to visit? We will be traveling from April 25th to the 29th.
I look forward to this trip and exclusive time with my father. I am grateful he has lived as long as he has and the impact he has had on my life. I hold dear every moment, as I know it isn't promised. Thank you, pops!
